Dominic Trott is research director for IDC's European Security Research team, covering both products and services. As research manager, Trott leads IDC's European security team in its production of syndicated research. He also plays a key role in the delivery of bespoke research, thought-leadership, go-to-market, and speaking engagements for the team.
Trott joined IDC from Pierre Audoin Consultants, where he spent the past four years covering the U.K. security market and latterly headed the U.K. subsidiary's security research practice. Other highlights include leading PAC's Nordic research program, U.K. public sector vertical coverage, and the U.K. digital transformation practice.
Trott has over 10 years' experience in the IT industry as an analyst, consultant, and IT services practitioner. He has a track record of supporting customers in a variety of industries across Europe, with a particular focus on the U.K. and the Nordics. As well as IDC and PAC, he has also worked at CSC and GE Money.
Recent research engagements have covered topics such as incident response, managed security services, and threat intelligence. Trott was also a key contributor to the 2013 competitive analysis of the U.K. cybersecurity market report delivered for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). Trott has a BA (Hons) from Nottingham Trent University in business information systems, and achieved a foundation level ITIL certification while working at CSC.
